Home Inspectors

Purpose

The Home Inspector Licensing Program was created in 2005 to regulate home inspectors in the State of Tennessee. The current requirements for the licensure of home inspectors can be found in Tennessee Code Annotated, Title 62, Chapter 6, Part 3.

Mission

The mission of the Tennessee Home Inspector Licensing Program is to protect the public health, safety and welfare through the regulation of home inspectors.

The Home Inspector Licensing Program was enacted April 18, 2005 to ensure that only qualified persons are licensed home inspectors, and that the licensed inspector offers Tennessee Consumers a professional, educated opinion of the condition of their homes.

It is our mission to protect the public health, safety and welfare by ensuring compliance through education, licensure and regulation.
