Purpose

The Athletic Commission was attached to the Regulatory Boards Division within the Department of Commerce and Insurance in 2015 to regulate unarmed combat contests to be held in the State of Tennessee. The current requirements can be found in Tennessee Code Annotated, Title 68, Section for Safety, Chapter 115. The Rules provide licensure requirements for all combatants, participants, promoters, ring officials, and the events.

Mission

The mission of the Tennessee Auctioneer Commission is to is to protect the public health, safety and welfare through regulation of affiliate auctioneers, principal auctioneers and public automobile auctions.

Created in 1967, The Tennessee Auctioneer Commission licenses affiliate and principal auctioneers.

The Commission also enacts rules addressing professional conduct and standards of practice.
